Burger King to start delivering, whether you like it or not

When the weather is awful and icy, or you're just too stoned/lazy/tired to make the long drive of shame to a fast food restaurant, or you're bored with pizza, you wouldn't be the first person to aimlessly wish that Burger King delivered. But, if you were living in the DC area right now, you could be one of the first people to get your wish. Yup, the #3 burger chain is trying to get an edge on the competition, by making it even easier to get fries and meat brought straight to you.
Standard in Europe and parts of Asia, fast food delivery may seem weird. But when you consider everything else you can get delivered (pizza, Chinese food, marijuana, everything from Amazon), it's not that strange. It's just worrisome in a country where most people are overweight or obese.
But the real question is, how's the food? Michael Rosenwald of the Washington Post took one for the team and tested out the King's new delivery system, ordering not only a burger and fries but a pie, too! But don't worry. He also got a Diet Coke... so... healthy, right?
According to Rosenwald's very scientific approach, the food was decent -- though that's accounting for standard margin of error for all fast food, in that it is always slightly below what most people would consider "decent."
Unfortunately, this service won't be available in Seattle until long after the ice melts. But maybe that's a good thing.
